Classical CD Packaging
This school assigned project was to design the packaging for five separate composer’s works that would be sold in a series. This project also required to be environmentally friendly in some way. I was first inspired by actual notes and handwritten notation of the composers themselves.
My concept also included the mixing of both traditional and nostalgia with modern technologies to create a juxtaposition of elements. The above image shows a sound wave taken from Beethoven’s “Sonata in A Major”, with his name hidden amongst his composition. Typeface being used is Elenovire.
Using an old transfer method of turpentine and ink, notes and graphics were transfered on the 100% recycled cardboard. Products were completely handmade to give them an aged and old-fashioned look while retaining their modern characteristics.
Project completed in 2007.
